Hockanum Hill Conservation Area

A 10-minute walk leads to a scenic overlook of the surrounding valley.

Description:

A leisurely, ten-minute walk takes visitors up the Overlook Trail to the ever-changing vista from Hockanum Hill to the rolling hills of the south and east, especially dramatic when fall foliage lights them up and when winter-bare trees allow a view down to Wheeler Pond. A second walk is planned, the Darling Brook Trail, which will connect the 36-acre Hockanum parcel with one section of the abutting Warwick State Forest.

Directions:

From Orange center, go west on W. Main St. (Rte. 2A) for 1.3 mi. Turn right (north) onto Rte. 78, continue for 2.8 miles, and turn left on Hockanum Hill Rd. Sign and parking area on left.
