Arthur Iversen Conservation AreaGale Rd., Warwick, MA Trails, year-round moss garden, and seasonal waterfall highlight this diverse wildlife habitat area. Description:The conservation goal of the 500-acre Arthur Iversen Area is to allow natural forces to determine wildlife habitat, ecosystem diversity, and water quality. From the trailhead on Gale Road, a one-way trail to the East follows an historic cart road across Rum Brook to a right-of-way to Hastings Heights Road (please stay on the trail in this area). The blue-blazed trail to the West from Gale Road emerges from the forest and crosses Hodge Brook near a lovely abandoned beaver pond. It then returns to the woods where a spur leads to an overlook of a basin created in a boulder by a seasonal waterfall, Devil’s Washbowl, its gorge adorned year-round by a moss garden. Directions:From Warwick Center, go east 0.8 mi. on Athol Rd., turn right (south) on Gale Rd., and go approx. 1 mile, to sign on right. Contact:
