Description:

Founded in 1986, Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust is a private nonprofit organization that protects significant natural, agricultural and scenic areas and encourages land stewardship in 23 cities and towns of North Central and Western Massachusetts. The Trust's work benefits the environment, the economy and future generations.

In the last 100 years, 200,000 acres have been protected regionally. In the first 20 years of its existence, Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust protected 10 percent of that total and was a major partner in the creation of the impressive North Quabbin Bioreserve.

The Trust's Skyfields headquarters in Athol offers trails showcasing native plants. Other North Quabbin parcels owned by the Trust include the Fox Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Phillipston, the Arthur Iverson Conservation Area in Warwick, and Hidden Valley Memorial Forest in Wendell.
