Manages Massachusetts natural, cultural, and recreational resources including state forests and parks.

Description:

The Department of Conservation and Recreation is a state agency in the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs whose mission is “to protect, promote and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural and recreational resources.” DCR is steward of one of the largest state parks systems in the country, overseeing 450,000 acres of forests, parks, greenways, historic sites and landscapes, seashores, lakes, ponds, reservoirs and watersheds. DCR lands in the North Quabbin region include the following:
     
     Erving State Forest (Erving)     
     Federated Women's Club State Forest (Petersham)     
     Mount Grace State Forest (Warwick)
     Otter River State Forest (Winchendon)
     Warwick State Forest (Warwick)
     Wendell State Forest (Wendell)
