Painting with glass powders on glass is about process. Each painting is made with four layers of 3 mm. glass. First, the drawing is sketched onto a sheet of opalescent glass with glass powder. It is then brought to a low temperature to tack the powder onto the glass. Colored glass powders are then applied to sheets of clear glass in multiple firings.

There are frequently nine firings within one finished piece. Each firing takes a full day due to the annealing and slow cooling time required. Once the piece is assembled and fully fused, the edges are ground and polished to reveal the layers of glass within the painting.
