Susan Paquet has an undergraduate degree in fine art photography from the University of Massachusetts. Photography has been her creative outlet for more than 20 years. She documents all aspects of her life and occasionally finds images that seem universal. She likes creating pieces of art that live in places beyond her own reach; that complete strangers may find their own meaning and appreciation for works that she discovered and created.

Aside from photography, Susan (in collaboration with her friend who blows glass) is self-taught in the art of necklace making. She began making necklaces in 2008 and now makes teardrop glass pendant necklaces and cell phone ‘bling’.

She is originally from Hardwick, MA and now resides in Warwick, MA. She has been living in the region for more than 20 years. She likes living in the area because there is a deep appreciation for the protected Quabbin land, the towns are progressive in their thinking and their sense of community, and we are close to cultural hotspots like Northhampton and Brattleboro.

Susan’s work has been shown in Amherst, Petersham, Hardwick, Ware, Denver, CO, Berea, KY, and Monson. She has been accepted as the photographic ‘artist in residence’ at Eagle Hill School in Hardwick for the fall 2010 session where she will be exploring alternative photographic processes with the students and teachers. She also had an exhibit in June 2010 at the Petersham Craft Center.
