David Beckwith
Local woodworker, David Beckwith, began making wood turned pens and scroll-sawn wooden bowls in 1998. He enjoys taking an ugly piece of wood and turning it into a beautiful piece of art. He is mostly self taught but has improved his craft by watching videos and talking with other crafters. Most of David's wood working products are wood turning: bowls, cups, tops, eggs, and acorns. He also makes bowls and clocks using a scroll saw. He has made tables, a bar, fireplace mantle, many different types of toy boxes, and more than 6,000 pieces of kitchen and dining room flooring. David uses maple and cherry from town, as well as black walnut and box elder from his neighbor's yard. He also picks up wood from his grandfather’s 800-acre tree farm in
