David Beckwith

Local woodworker, David Beckwith, began making wood turned pens and scroll-sawn wooden bowls in 1998. He enjoys taking an ugly piece of wood and turning it into a beautiful piece of art. He is mostly self taught but has improved his craft by watching videos and talking with other crafters.

Most of David's wood working products are wood turning:  bowls, cups, tops, eggs, and acorns.  He also makes bowls and clocks using a scroll saw.  He has made tables, a bar, fireplace mantle, many different types of toy boxes, and more than 6,000 pieces of kitchen and dining room flooring.  

David uses maple and cherry from town, as well as black walnut and box elder from his neighbor's yard. He also picks up wood from his grandfather’s 800-acre tree farm in Vermont. 

David is originally from Northern Maine and has been living in the North Quabbin region since 1996. He enjoys the Quabbin Reservoir and the quaint little towns.

David has shown his work at a craft fair in Dublin, NH, and other local craft fairs (including the Garlic and Arts Festival). He has also shown his product on Ebay.
