Sean and Helen Franchi moved to Athol in 1999.
Inspired by the challenge of creating something new out of something old, their mixed medium work fuses wood, wire, and stained glass into wall or window hangings, capturing nature and people in action from the North Quabbin landscape.
The mountain laurel is cut on their property, and the frames are made from old barn boards and recycled windows.
Both work out of their barn and operate the Flat Rock Disc Golf Club, a non-profit 501c4 social organization dedicated to preserving a landscape for health, fun and friendly competition.
