North Quabbin Woods is pleased to present the glass work of local resident, Bonnie House.  Bonnie creates beautiful glass paintings and sculptural, kiln formed ornaments inspired by the landscape and nature.

"I have always been drawn to the landscape for inspiration and peace of mind," states Bonnie.

She enjoys exploring how luminosity and translucence of glass interact with color.  Working with sheets, powders, and particles of glass, she brings her painting skills to this exciting and colorful medium.

Bonnie studied graphic design at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and Rochester Institute of Technology.  Prior to turning her interests to glass, she taught graphic design at Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts.  She has been working fulltime with kiln formed glass since 2001.

Bonnie has taken intensive workshops in kiln formed glass with many talented artisans such as Beth Lipman, Rudi Gritsch, Klaus Moje, Catharine Newell, Miriam DiFiore, Richard LaLonde, Robert Nachmann, Roger Thomas, Warren Langley, Sally Prasch, and Mieke Groot. When she isn't traveling to workshops, Bonnie can be found most days experimenting with glass in her studio in rural Phillipston, Massachusetts.
