Rachel's Everlastings
Rachel Gonzalez is the owner of Rachel’s Everlastings, an organic flower farm and wreath business located in Orange, MA. Rachel makes dried flower wreaths, swags, and pressed flower cards from her abundant and lush garden. She also specializes in fresh cut flower and herbal bouquets, often for weddings or other occasions.
“I love using what is available from my garden and wildflowers found while hiking the trails of the North Quabbin region,” says Rachel.
Rachel’s work is inspired by the gardening seasons in New England. “I especially like the pussy willows in the spring, starting plants in the house, transplanting, caring for them, harvesting, drying, then the best part, creating with color combinations and textures. When a wreath is finished, I am always pleasantly pleased. In November, I start making Christmas wreaths with our pine, spruce, and laurel along with winter berries and rose hips,” described the artisan.
In addition to finding her pieces at North Quabbin Woods, one is inclined to see Rachel at the Orange Farmers Market held on Thursday afternoons during the summer months. Rachel also attends many regional craft fairs, including the annual Garlic and Arts Festival.
Rachel and her family enjoy being part of the North Quabbin community. One of her favorite parts of living in the region is the strong support of the local farmers and artists. “People realize the importance of getting back to nature and using our own local resources.”
